What to expect
Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the we have all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling. Educate yourself on your symptoms by reviewing the content on this Web site. Also, take some time to review our staff page and familiarize yourself with the therapist. We look forward to your first visit.
What Should I bring to my first appointment?
Make sure you have a referral form from your treating physician. You can bring ANY referral to our office, even if you have been referred to a different facility. You must also bring your insurance cards and a photo ID. If you have more than one insurance we will gladly bill your secondary insurance. If you have Medpay/Auto Insurance please bring your claim information.
What Should I wear to my first appointment?
Wear appropriate clothing. Knee patients will want to bring shorts and sneakers, while patients with low back pain will need to wear something with an elastic waistband. The therapist will greatly appreciate you wearing a T-shirt if you have a shoulder problem.You can always bring a spare change of clothes to change before and/or after your appointment.
About how long does each appointment last?
Your first appointment will last about one hour and 45 minutes.You will be evaluated by the physical therapist and a plan of care will be established. Your first appointment is usually longer because of the time needed for the evaluation and treatment on the same day. Soon you’ll be on the road to recovery.
